Meena Alexander described in The Statesman (India) as “undoubtedly one of the finest poets in contemporary times” has new work forthcoming in 2018: her eighth book of poetry Atmospheric Embroidery (TriQuarterly Books/ Northwestern UP) an expanded edition with new poems of the book published in 2015 by Hachette India. Also in 2018 Yale University Press will publish her edited volume, drawing on work by Twentieth Century Indian writers in several languages – Name me a Word: Indian Writers Reflect on Writing. She is a Distinguished Professor of English at The Graduate Center / Hunter College, City University of New York.
